Pethoven.
Pet + Beethoven. We get the joke. Here's the part that's not a joke.
We named ourselves after a composer who lost his hearing in his late twenties and spent the rest of his life writing some of the most demanding, precise, intricate music ever composed — work he could never fully hear. Beethoven kept showing up to the piano. Kept revising. Kept getting it right because getting it right was the point.
That's the part we wanted to bring to dog care. Not "natural," not "premium," not "luxury." Just: this matters, the small choices matter, we'll spend the time it takes to formulate something that works on the dogs that actually need it. The avocado-lavender shampoo took eleven months to land on the final formula. The paw wax went through nineteen versions before we'd ship it. None of that is glamorous and we don't talk about it on the bottle. But it's the only reason any of this exists.
The "Pet" part is more obvious. Dogs deserve products that were thought about as carefully as the products you'd buy for yourself. That's the whole thesis.
So when you see the brand, that's what we hope you hear underneath it. Not the joke about the name — the work behind the products. Our shampoos are sulfate-free, fragrance-free, dye-free, made in Estonia under EU cosmetic standards, formulated by working with vets and dog owners over months of small adjustments. We could have launched a year sooner. We didn't.
If a product on this site doesn't work for your dog, send it back. The 30-day guarantee is real. The composer wouldn't have shipped the symphony if he wasn't sure. Neither do we.
